Battle Fleet Gothic

Been a bit quiet on here as of late, unfortunately work has been taking up the majority of my time so haven't been able to work on any modelling projects for the past month or so.

I am considering getting back into BFG again after a few years of not playing as a few friends have taken it up again. I have always considered BFG to be one of the better game systems that GW have come up with and enjoyed playing it a few years back.

My current fleet is a space marine one, consisting of 1 Battle barge, 3 Strike Cruisers and 4 Cobras. I am looking at expanding this with another battle barge, 3 more strike cruisers and a further 12 escorts. Probably get them all from forgeworld with the exception of the battlebarge.

Images are taken from this rather awesome site Sci-fi ship comparisons.

  1. I do like a good game of BFG! It's a really enjoyable system to play, and a very different style of game than 40k despite being set in the same universe.

  2. I think it's one of the most tactically challenging games in the 40K universe. Everyone should try it at least once. I used to love playing it.

  3. It looks like a good system. I'm not a huge fan of the models myself, but I'd like to try it out at some point.

  4. It is a good system, you should really get Ginge to give you a game sometime. The rules are available to download from the GW website under specialist games.

  5. He keeps showing me the miniatures with a hopeful glint in his eye ;) I believe he has two fleets as well, so yeah I will have to try it out.

You should get Uncharted Seas as well. It seems to be making quite the impact on the gaming community.

  6. Not got two fleets, but got a large enough Imperial fleet to divide it into two effective combat halves.

Uncharted Seas and BFG are very similar, US being slightly simpler. Hoping to get a few games in over the summer (of either!) so will try to encourage more to join in (again, to either :oP)
